Pär Arvidsson, CEO Snowshoe Capital LLC, Silicon Valley (USA)
Mr. Arvidsson has extensive experience in investing in, starting, growing and managing new business ventures. He is a founder and Managing Director of Snowshoe Capital, LLC, an investment company focused on investing in and advising emerging growth companies. Prior to Snowshoe Capital, he was a co-founder and Managing Director of GameChange, LLC, an early-stage venture capital fund created in partnership with Accenture and SOFTBANK Venture Capital. Mr. Arvidsson currently serves on the Board of Directors of several early-stage companies, including Wcities International (where he is Chairman), Hive Technology Group and Aplia.
He is also on the board of directors of Wayfinder Systems, a publicly-traded company based in Stockholm, Sweden. He was a co-founder of and an investor in Bare Escentuals (NASDAQ: BARE), a rapidly growing multi-channel marketer of branded upscale cosmetics, skin care, and body care products where he was active in a wide range of capacities including CFO and interim CEO. Mr. Arvidsson also founded a wireless services company in his native Sweden. Previously, he was a partner at Strategic Decisions Group, a Silicon Valley-based management consulting firm.
Mr. Arvidsson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with distinction from the University of California, Berkeley where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Alf Björseth, CEO Scatec AS, Founder of REC (NOR)
Mr. Björseth earned his Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from the University of Oslo, Norway in 1979. He subsequently worked as an associate professor at the Universities of Oslo and Bergen; subsequently he worked for contract research organizations in Norway (SI – today SINTEF) and in the U.S. (Battelle Labs). Then Dr. Bjorseth went into industrial research and has served as Corporate Director of Research for Norsk Hydro and Director of Technology for Elkem.
In 1994, Dr. Bjorseth started ScanWafer, a company specializing in production of multicrystalline silicon wafers for the global solar industry. Later he started another three companies, related to solar cell and module production as well as solar module installation company. These companies were later merged into one holding company, Renewable Energy Corporation (REC), of which Dr. Bjorseth served as President from the start. Today REC covers the whole value chain for solar energy and is one of the largest solar energy companies in the world. In May 2006 REC went public and became the second largest IPO ever on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In 2005, Dr. Bjorseth retired as President of REC. He is now running his private company (SCATEC AS) where the main purpose is establishing new companies based on advanced technologies in the area of renewable energy and materials.

Dan Esty, Professor of School of Forestry at Yale University (USA)
Mr. Esty is the Hillhouse Professor of Environmental Law and Policy at Yale University. He holds faculty appointments in both Yale’s Environment and Law Schools. He is the Director of the Center for Business and Environment at Yale as well as the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy. Mr. Esty is the author or editor of nine books and numerous articles on environmental issues, including, most recently, “Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value, and Build Competitive Advantage”. His prior work examines the relationships between environment and trade, competitiveness, globalization, security, international institutions and development. His current research agenda includes projects on environmental performance measurement, corporate environmental strategy, global environmental governance, and “Information Age” approaches to pollution control and natural resource management.
Prior to taking up his position at Yale in 1994, Mr. Esty was a Senior Fellow at the Institute for International Economics, a Washington, D.C. think tank. From 1989-93, Mr. Esty served in a variety of positions in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, including Special Assistant to the EPA Administrator, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Agency, and Deputy Assistant Administrator for Policy. During his tenure at the EPA, Mr. Esty managed the EPA’s regulatory review process, coordinated inter-agency relations, and contributed to a number of policy initiatives, including the 1990 amendments to the Clean Air Act, food safety proposals, and water pollution control reforms. He also negotiated several international agreements on behalf of the EPA, including the 1992 Climate Change Convention, the environmental provisions of NAFTA, and various elements of the agreements concluded at the 1992 Rio Earth Summit.
Mr. Esty spent the 2000-2001 academic year as a visiting Professor at INSEAD, the European business school in Fontainebleau, France. He served four years as an elected Planning and Zoning Commissioner in his hometown of Cheshire, Connecticut. He sits on the Board of Directors of several companies and environmental groups. Mr. Esty is a graduate of Harvard College, Balliol College (Oxford) where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and Yale Law School.

Dean Kamen, CEO of DEKA (USA)
Mr. Kamen is an inventor, entrepreneur and a tireless advocate for science and technology. He is the founder of DEKA Research & Development Corporation, where he develops internally-generated inventions and provides research and development for major corporate clients. He holds more than 440 U.S. and foreign patents for innovative devices that have expanded the frontiers of health care worldwide.
Some of his notable inventions include the first wearable insulin pump for diabetics, the HomeChoice™ portable peritoneal dialysis machine, the INDEPENDENCE®IBOT®Mobility System, and the Segway® Human Transporter.Among Mr. Kamen’s proudest accomplishments is founding FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), an organization dedicated to motivating the next generation to understand, use, and enjoy science and technology.
Mr. Kamen was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1997, received the Heinz Award in 1998, and was awarded the National Medal of Technology in 2000. In 2002 he received the Lemelson-MIT Prize, and was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in May 2005.

Hans Lundgren, Chief of Corporate Strategy Vattenfall (SWE)
Mr. Lundgren is Vice President, Corporate Strategy at Vattenfall AB, Stockholm, the 4th largest electric utility in Europe. He has been with Vattenfall for 12 years. Before his current position he built up and managed an organisation for investing in and owning generation assets in Latin America. At the end of that assignment he was also Deputy Head of Business Area International and responsible for all Overseas Investment in Vattenfall (in Asia and Latin America).
Prior to Vattenfall Mr. Lundgren worked 10 years as a management consultant for McKinsey and Co. first in Munich, Germany and then in Stockholm. He has also been an investment manager with Industor AB, Stockholm, a risk capital company, undersecretary for planning with responsibility for privatising Swedish state-owned companies at the Ministry for Industry and Commerce in Stockholm, assistant science counsellor at the Swedish Embassy in Bonn, Germany and research engineer at ABB in Västerås, Sweden. He has a broad business network in several different industries primarily in Sweden and Germany.
Mr. Lundgren holds a Master of Science in engineering physics at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and an MBA at the Stockholm School of Economics and Business Administration.

Karl-Henrik Robèrt, Professor and founder The Natural Step (SWE)
Mr. Robèrt MD, PhD, one of Sweden’s foremost cancer scientists is the founder of The Natural Step (TNS), an international NGO that promotes a scientific consensus approach for social, ecological and economic sustainability.
In 1979 he earned a PhD degree in medicine from Karolinska Institute, and subsequently served on the faculties of many of Sweden’s most prestigious hospitals and universities, including Huddinge University Hospital, Karolinska Institute, the Chalmers Institute of Technology, and Blekinge Institute of Technology. Prof. Robèrt is Fellow of the World Business Academy, Advisory Board Member at Georgia Institute of Technology, Doctor of Public Service—Honorus Causa at the University of Portland, Oregon, U.S.A.
Founded in 1989, the TNS network of scientists have developed a scientifically-based framework for strategic planning towards sustainability, and applied it to coach a growing number of role models among organisations and key decision makers, and provides forums and tools to share best practices. The TNS framework has been used with great success by a variety of organisations, including Home Depot, Nike, Interface, Mitsubishi Electric USA, IKEA and McDonald’s, as well as universities and governmental organizations throughout the world.
Prof. Robèrt has published a number of books and articles on the subject of environment and sustainability. He was Swedish delegate in the one year EU roundtable on “A Sustainable Project for European Society” convened by former European Commission President Romano Prodi. In 1999 Prof. Robèrt won the Green Cross Award for International Leadership, and in 2000 he won the Blue Planet Prize, the ‘Nobel Prize’ for ecological sustainability, sponsored by the Asahi Glass Foundation. In 2005 Prof. Robèrt was awarded The Social Responsibility Laureate Medal award by the Global Center for Leadership & Business Ethics. In 2006 Prof. Robèrt was elected Chairman of the Advisory Committee of Fortis Bank’s Sustainability Investment Group.

Christian Salamon, Chairman of OSM (SWE)
Mr. Salamon is engaged in several businesses as owner, advisor or board member. His engagements include: Chairman of the Board of OSM, a leading supplier of marketing and sales support products for the consumer electronics industry; Board member and co-owner of Lamiflex, an industrial transport packaging business; Board member of Oriflame Cosmetics, a leading global direct seller of cosmetics, listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange; Board member of E. Öhman J:or Luxemburg, a private bank.
He was previously Director and Partner in Industri Kapital (1997-2005), a leading Northern European private equity group, where he managed Industri Kapital’s Swedish investment team and later co-headed Industri Kapital’s Strategy and Operations team. Mr. Salamon has been Board member of several listed and private companies in his capacity at Industri Kapital. Prior to Industri Kapital, Mr. Salamon worked at McKinsey & Co. in Stockholm (1988-1997), primarily with industrial and financial sector clients. Earlier, he worked at Atlas Copco, at its corporate R&D center.
Mr. Salamon holds a Master of Science in engineering physics at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

William Walker, CEO Walker & Dunlop, Chairman of Transcom (USA)
Mr. Walker is president of Walker & Dunlop and Green Park Financial, two real estate financial services firms based in Bethesda, Maryland (USA). Prior to Walker & Dunlop, Mr.Walker held several senior management positions at TeleTech Inc. (NASD: TTEC), including president and general manager of Europe, executive vice president for strategy and business development, and president and general manager of Latin America.
Mr. Walker joined TeleTech from Newbridge Latin America where he worked on private equity investments. Prior to Newbridge, he was general manager of ALTA Airlines, a regional airline start-up based in Resistencia, Argentina.
Mr. Walker earned a bachelor's degree from St. Lawrence University and an MBA from Harvard University. He is Chairman of the Board of Transcom Worldwide SA (OMX: TWW), a European outsourcing company. He also sits on the board of Walker & Dunlop, Inc., the Ruddie Memorial Youth Foundation, Woodley House and is a trustee of the Pomfret School. Mr. Walker is a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO), the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) and sits on the executive committee of the Urban Land Institute's Washington District Council. |
